A few weeks ago I introduced the Layer 1 Governance Task Force that will be kicking off. I have created a Wiki page here which gives a broad overview of the Task Force and the key objectives.

There will be a kickoff Workshop for the TG next Tuesday at  9am PDT, 6pm CEST, 12pm PDT, 2am AEDT.

After the kickoff workshop there will be more regular and structured Task Force calls, using the ToIP Zoom.

For the workshop, I am going to create a Miro board split into 5 bubbles, which will be:

• Business
• Technical
• Legal
• Social
• Governance processes

During the workshop I want to address each section above, looking specifically at:

1. Questions that must be considered for a Layer 1 Utility-based SSI ecosystem to work in practice
2. Risks that must be considered for clients/end-customers to adopt the Layer 1 Utility into a production environment

Through looking at these categories through the lens of key questions and key risks, we will start to build a holistic view of what needs to be included in a Layer 1 governance template, what risks we must address when designing such a framework, and, importantly, the scope of Trust over IP Layer 1 governance.

For some pre-reading for the Group, and given this is closely tied with the work going on in the Utility Foundry Working Group, I kindly ask all involved to read the Document: A Framework for Evaluating Layer 1 Utilities.

This document should act as a starting point for the questions and risks that need to be addressed in the workshop. The section, "Evaluating a Utility" already begins to list some of the points that should be brought up and covered within the workshop. These need to be expanded, iterated and thought over more thoroughly, before being included in a Governance Template.
